Cherry red color with pretty garnet reflections. The nose is open with balsamic, fruity and spicy notes. The black fruits, the ripe and juicy cherry call for indulgence.

Tasting Notes

Color: An intense, deep and brilliant garnet red, with purple highlights that testify to its youth.

Nose: A complex bouquet that opens with ripe morello cherry and forest fruits, before giving way to spicier aromas of black pepper and roasted hints of mocha.

Palate: A round and balanced attack with a lovely ripe fruit sweetness. The texture is dense, supported by silky, velvety tannins thanks to extended aging. The finish is long and persistent, with notes of black fruit and sweet spices.

Terroir, Winemaking and Aging

Terroir

Originating from the Signargues plateau, this wine draws its character from clay-limestone soils covered with rolled pebbles. These stones release the heat absorbed during the day at night, while the mistral wind naturally purifies the vineyard.

Winemaking & Aging

The quality of this wine is built on precision and patience. After rigorous plot selection, each batch is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. This precise temperature control allows for the delicate extraction of color and tannins while preserving the vibrancy and freshness of the fruit.

Then time takes its course. During 24 months of aging in our cellars, the wine undergoes a profound transformation. The tannins, initially firm, gradually soften to achieve the silky texture that characterizes our Signargues. The primary fruit aromas evolve into more complex, roasted, and spicy notes. The whole gains in harmony, roundness, and length. This extended maturation, rare for the appellation, gives the wine its remarkable smoothness and exceptional aging potential.

Grape varieties

Grenache Noir 70%
The power and generosity of Grenache define its rich character. Its characteristic aromas are primarily juicy black cherry, tobacco, mocha, white pepper, and licorice.

Syrah 30%
The intensity and tannic potential of Syrah make it a wine of particular complexity. Aromas found in these wines include violet, blackcurrant, and blackberry, with smoky and peppery notes. With aging, hints of animal character, leather, or even truffle emerge.

Serving and Storage Temperature

Serving temperature: 16-18°C. We recommend decanting it one hour before serving.

Aging potential: 7 to 10 years.

Médaille d'Or Vinalies

Concours Vinalies Internationales 2017 - Médaille d'Or

The winemaker's description of the wine

Château des Coccinelles – Signargues 2020
Côtes du Rhône Villages AOP | Organic Red Wine

Born on the rounded pebbles of the Signargues plateau, this organic red wine embodies the excellence of an exceptional Rhône terroir. Made from a blend of Grenache Noir (70%) and Syrah (30%), it combines power and elegance with remarkable mastery.

The 2020 vintage, marked by intense heat, produced a wine of exceptional concentration. Patiently aged for 24 months in the estate's cellars, it reveals an intense garnet-red color with purple highlights.

On the nose, generous aromas of Morello cherry and wild berries mingle harmoniously with peppery and roasted notes of mocha. On the palate, the attack reveals a lovely fruity roundness, followed by a dense and balanced texture. The silky, well-integrated tannins offer remarkable smoothness that lingers in a long and persistent finish.

This wine pairs beautifully with grilled meats, Provençal stews, aged cheeses, or even a dark chocolate dessert. Serve it between 16 and 18°C to fully appreciate its complexity.

Awarded the Silver Medal at the 2024 Millésime Bio Competition, this Signargues testifies to the know-how of Château des Coccinelles, a pioneer of organic farming since 1978. A wine for aging (7-10 years) which expresses the soul of a committed estate and a preserved terroir.
