Terroir, Winemaking and Aging

Terroir

Located on an ancient Rhône riverbed, our vineyard is rooted in one of the region's noblest terroirs, where the powerful Mediterranean mistral sweeps across clay-limestone soil covered with rolled pebbles. Planting density: 4,000 vines/ha | Controlled yield: 50 hl/ha | Average age of vines: 20 years.

Vinification & Ageing

Total destemming, direct pressing. Cold alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatic purity and fruit freshness.

Aged on fine lees for 6 months before bottling, adding extra roundness and complexity.

Grape varieties

Roussanne (60%)
A delicate and very refined grape variety, it produces elegant, fine, and complex wines, developing floral aromas such as honeysuckle, linden, and iris. It gives the wine good aging potential and a beautiful natural acidity.

Grenache Blanc (40%)
A typically southern grape variety, it produces rather full-bodied and warm wines, with low acidity, roundness, and a long finish. It brings generosity and volume to the blend.

Service & Conservation

Serving temperature: 8–10°C to reveal the full aromatic freshness of this Côtes du Rhône white.

Aging potential: 1 to 3 years depending on the vintage. Our well-balanced and highly aromatic cuvées can be enjoyed in their youth or kept for a few years in the cellar.

Food & wine pairings:

  • Fish: White-fleshed fish cooked in olive oil, Mediterranean fish served with candied vegetables and aromatic herbs
  • White meats: Roast poultry, veal in cream sauce, blanquette
  • Cheeses: Fresh or aged goat cheeses, blue cheeses (Roquefort, Bleu)

On the palate, it is again Roussanne that sets the tone, bringing its sweetness and smooth flavors to a full-bodied and persistent texture, enhanced by lovely bitterness. Ethics & Quality

A certified organic and vegan Côtes du Rhône White

This vegan white wine represents the perfect alliance between viticultural elegance and ethical commitment. Organic Agriculture certified, it is aimed at wine lovers who seek quality, freshness, and respect for living things.

What is a vegan wine?

A vegan wine is made without any animal products, particularly during the clarification (or "fining") stage. Unlike traditional methods that use egg whites, gelatin, or fish glue, our Château Blanc is clarified with plant-based techniques (bentonite, pea proteins). This ensures a 100% plant-based wine, from vine to glass.

An exceptional Côtes du Rhône Blanc (AOP)

Born from an exceptional clay-limestone soil on an ancient Rhône riverbed, this white wine benefits from an ideal Mediterranean climate. The Roussanne-Grenache Blanc blend produces a wine of great aromatic elegance, with notes of peach, pear, and white flowers, regularly awarded in major competitions.

Aromatic Profile

The elegant union of Roussanne and Grenache Blanc

This Côtes du Rhône white wine draws its personality from a refined blend: 60% Roussanne and 40% Grenache Blanc.

Roussanne brings finesse and complexity, with its floral aromas of honeysuckle, linden, and iris, complemented by notes of white fruits (peach, apricot, pear). Grenache Blanc enriches the whole with its warm roundness and length on the palate.

Food & wine pairings: fresh and gourmet

Fish & seafood: White-fleshed fish, baked sea bream, scallops, garlic and Provence herb prawns.

Vegetarian pairings: This vegan white wine also enhances vegetable dishes: mushroom and Parmesan risotto, thin tart with sun-drenched vegetables, zucchini gratin, pasta with garlic and basil cream.

Serve it between 8 and 10°C to reveal all its aromatic freshness. Its 6-month aging on fine lees gives it a beautiful roundness and a persistent finish.

Organic Commitment

A pioneer in organic viticulture since 1978

Château des Coccinelles is one of the very few French wineries to have obtained organic certification as early as 1978.

A History of Conviction

Driven by a strong desire to preserve his vines and the surrounding nature, René Fabre joined the Nature et Progrès Association in 1974. Together, they created the first organic specifications validated by the Ministry of Agriculture, thus becoming the pioneers of Organic Agriculture and the first defenders of clean and responsible viticulture.

Our commitment: No pesticides, no chemical fertilizers, no animal products in winemaking. We respect the natural balance of our Gard soils to produce authentic, vibrant, and terroir-harmonious organic and vegan white wines.

Château des Coccinelles, organic pioneer since 1978

Our vines have been cultivated according to certified Organic Agriculture principles since 1978. Without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, we respect the natural balance of our Gard clay-limestone soils to produce authentic and lively organic white wines, in harmony with their Mediterranean terroir. Our different vintages from Château Blanc embody this philosophy of excellence, freshness, and respect for nature, regularly rewarded in the most prestigious wine competitions.

What are Château Blanc's grape varieties, and why that blend?

Château Blanc is blended from Roussanne (60%) and Grenache Blanc (40%). Roussanne, a delicate and very refined grape variety, brings elegance, aromatic complexity (honeysuckle, linden, iris, peach, pear) and good aging potential. Grenache Blanc, typically southern French, provides roundness, warmth, and length on the palate. Together, they form a highly harmonious AOP Côtes du Rhône white wine, available in several vintages (2025, 2023, 2022, 2019).

What dishes pair well with Château des Coccinelles Blanc?

This organic white wine pairs perfectly with white-fleshed fish (sea bream, sole, sea bass) and white meats (roast poultry, veal). Its association with goat cheeses and blue cheeses (Roquefort, Bleu d'Auvergne) will also be a revelation for your palate. It also happily accompanies risottos, savory tarts, and Mediterranean-style candied vegetables.

How to serve and store Château Blanc?

Serve this Côtes du Rhône white wine chilled, between 8 and 10°C, to reveal its full aromatic palette of white fruits and flowers. Its aging potential is 1 to 3 years depending on the vintage. Store it on its side, in a cool place, away from light and vibrations. Thanks to its 6 months of aging on fine lees, it can also be enjoyed now in all its freshness.

What is a vegan wine and why is Château Blanc vegan?

A vegan wine is produced without any animal products, particularly during clarification (fining of the wine). Traditional methods use egg whites, gelatin, or fish glue to remove suspended particles. Our vegan Château Blanc is clarified using plant-based techniques (bentonite, pea proteins), guaranteeing a 100% plant-based wine, from vine to glass.

Which vintages of Château Blanc are available and how do I choose?

Château Blanc is available in several vintages: 2025 (Silver Medal Concours Général Agricole de Paris 2026), 2023, 2022, and 2019. Younger vintages (2025, 2023) express all their fruity and floral freshness, ideal for immediate tasting. Older vintages (2022, 2019) have developed more complexity and roundness.
